Communication is key but it is often very difficult. If you are interested in language and communication, check out this book Words That Change Minds: Mastering the Language of Influence. It's fascinating. For example, the author, Shelle Rose Charvet identifies motivation levels and two patterns, proactive and reactive. For each pattern she provides "Influencing Language" as "examples of the kind of language that has the greatest impact." Just look at the "words and phrases to get people to jump into action" on page 21 of Charvet's book:
"Proactive:
go for it; just do it; jump in; why wait; now; right away; get it done; you'll get to do; take the initiative; take charge; run away with it; right now; what are you waiting for; let's hurry
Reactive:
lets think about it; now that you have analyzed it; you'll get to really understand; this will tell you why; consider this; this will clarify it for you; think about your response; you might consider; could; the time is ripe; good luck is coming your way"
